Jewellery Care

How to Care for Your Silver Sea Jewellery

Ensure the longevity of your Silver Sea jewellery by following these guidelines for proper care:

Store your jewellery in a secure, dry place, especially when engaging in the following activities:

  • Showering, bathing, or swimming in pools, hot tubs, and the ocean
  • Using lotion, sunscreen, hair products, fragrances, and other cosmetics
  • Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
  • Preparing meals
  • Performing household and outdoor chores

Composition of Sterling Silver :

Silver Sea jewellery is crafted from 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent other metals, forming an alloy. The presence of metals like copper may cause 925 sterling silver items to oxidize or tarnish over time when exposed to salty air, chlorine water, sulfur, humidity, perspiration, cosmetics, household bleach, and other strong chemicals. This natural wear and tear are not faults with the item. To prolong your jewellery's life, store it in the Silver Sea box or pouch provided with your purchase when not in use.

Avoid Chemicals:

Ensure that your jewellery does not come into contact with any chemicals mentioned above, as this can alter the metals/plating colour. Failure to follow these instructions will not be considered a fault but rather a lack of proper care.

Try not to let your jewellery touch things like lotion, sunscreen, or cleaning products. If it does, it might not stay the same colour.

Cleaning Guide

We recommend keeping your jewellery pieces in their original lustrous finish by regularly cleaning them with a jewellery polishing cloth to remove any accumulated residue. In case stones become cloudy due to residue buildup, wash the jewellery pieces in lukewarm water and soap, then gently scrub with a soft bristle brush.

Important Allergy Alert:

Take charge of your purchase by acknowledging any potential metal allergies. Though uncommon, some individuals may exhibit sensitivity to specific metals used in jewellery. Exercise caution if you have sensitive skin, as Silver Sea cannot ascertain customers' medical histories. Silver Sea bears no responsibility for allergic reactions.
